Well well well, look at what many crazy rounds of yooyuball has done to yours truly. Since PLTC has already thought me to be critically reflective of myself and the surroundings and details around me, well, here's a list of the unexpected sudden changes I've seen in myself because of yooyuball.
1. Soccer
Suddenly cultivating an interest in soccer even though I've hated it since... well... I have no idea. Even seen the finals of the Euro Cup 2008...
2. Music
Suddenly building playlists and making MP3 files of various music... and starting to appreciate the different genres and how each genre of music can be effectively used... for example, we should play sadder songs at the start and techno (louder) ones at the back. The sad songs are for motivation, the loud songs are to wake myself up.
3. Team Player
It's a tournament where you have no idea who the other people on your team is, except say your friends who you know are definitely in the same team. Suddenly, I have to think as a team player, knowing how to motivate and help others (neoboards...) at the same time do my part for the team. (I also learnt it in PLTC...)
4. Strategy
Suddenly becoming critically strategic, it is important to know your enemies before a war, thus we must know what our opponent's weaknesses and strengths are, what are our own strengths and weaknesses, which days are important tournament dates, which days a sweep can be pulled without much effort, which days to focus on what games.
5. Clutch
Never panicking no matter what, like I always do. Still staying positive even though my team suffered complete triple kills in the first five days of the tournament, now gaining momentum.
Yay. Look at what it has done to me. I can't believe I just wrote this, by the way.

Avester's Column 65
Had a thoroughly stressful week that ended well with fun (lots of it). This whole week, from Monday to Thursday, I have that heavy feeling of dread inside me as I walk out of school everyday. Did I do well? Can I do well? Would I do well? And all the questions that are seemingly similar and paraphrased start churning inside me.
Then when I get home, I use those three questions to 'somewhat' motivate me for the exam the next day. I shall not list any predictions, I'm hoping for a miracle, and I shall leave it as that. The truth is, I can't even assess myself-whether I did well or not. I feel.. stranded.
Anyway, let's not think about review test week. Let's talk about other stuff. Then again, there's nothing much to say besides Jacky and I going bowling yesterday. And although we played 10 games straight, we still want to play more. My bowling skills improved, and now I actually can score a three digit score. (Sounds a lot like me practicing a game...)
Talking about games, I have been online often (not on Saturday but on Friday) and I have been... well... doing what I usually do. Play games. MSN.Rip MP3 files from O2Jam *innocent whistle* Listening to music.
I feel like I'm forcing myself to write this. I'm taking a break from games, so I'm blogging. That will be more common in the days to come, and you'll probably see more interesting posts and pics (guaranteed to be more interesting than this one... hopefully... hey everyone feels hopeful OKAY...) It's fun, but I know my limits, UNLIKE what all of you out there are thinking... I'm not some crazy addict who sits in front of the monitor playing relentlessly...
And finally, since you want to know how to curb boredom while playing yooyuball, here's my background music playlist. One cycle is 41 minutes, which translates into around 18-19 games. (I do 3-5 cycles daily, taking at least an hour break from the computer totally in between... see I'm not a crazed games addict) For one thing, I don't listen to songs with lyrics while playing yooyuball because it will get really distracting. And I get distracted easily :P

Went bowling today with Jacky. (Stress Reliever) So we had no idea and we did not plan on it but somehow we played 10 games. That was a lot. And I improved from a 61 to a 113, with a reasonable number of strikes and spares per game. And I feel so much better...yay...

Column 65
Well, I have decided to squeeze out some time for a blogpost! So be thankful as you continue reading this.
Came back from camp 4 days ago. PLTC (Patrol Leaders Training Camp) has taught me a lot. It has taught me to be critically self-aware of the surroundings, details and people around me and how I can be a good leader. I have also survived an 8km walk (I think it's longer) with a full pack (mine was 9.5kg) on my shoulders with the consistent hurrying and yelling of Adult Leaders. I am also proud to say that I have spent my solo night (one night where an adult leader throw you inside a forest in Ubin and you pitch a tent and sleep there)wisely flirting with mosquitoes. Insect repellant helps...for 15 seconds. Then I get bitten. It was me against many many mosquitoes. (And in case you were wondering where the snakes were, I sprayed sulphur around my tent) I managed to sleep for 2 hours, cuz after that I had to hike back to base camp. We also had map reading activities which I messed up big time at Lim Chu Kang cemetery. Other interesting moments included building a huge structure and getting thoroughly confused by the knots we tied to make the structure stable. It was called a Ten Minute Tower, which should be able to be built in ten minutes. Everyone spent more than one hour. My team members managed to crack the puzzle but spent ten minutes arguing. But if you do want me to say something positive, well, we were treated to good food.

I'll try to squeeze in blogposts tomorrow if there's time. I have tests to study for and I still need to chuck out at least 2-3 hours a day for the tournament. Yes, I'm an addict. Yes, I studied and that's why I think I can afford to play a little more... but yes, I'm uncertain, I'm scared the papers will be difficult and I'll sit there stunned and ask myself 'What have I done?!?!'
The truth is, not much.
And that's why I'm really really scared.

Tomorrow I'm going for camp with the VS Scouts. So I'll be not online for 5 days.
That is also the particular reason why I studied my stuff for Review test in advance...so that I won't have to rush through everything in the last 5 days of holidays.
That being said, I wonder how all of your revisions are going? I'm sure all of you are working hard (if not...well, please do...).
Well, if you're online then, you probably aren't studying because you're tired, you're angry, you're depressed, you want to talk to someone, you just don't feel like studying or you're just bored. It's okay, I get that feeling sometimes. In fact, I've felt bored this whole week. I've read through almost everything...and I just don't want to pick up my books again.
Let me cheer all of you up with a simple analogy (sorry, I'm a Neopets Games Addict)
Every Friday they will release a new game on Neopets. (usually once a fortnight but anyway...) When they release a new game, everyone has an equal chance of being the best player (earning a trophy).
Then usually one month later there are players who noticeably dominate the high-score board with high scores. How do they do that? How do they achive unthinkable scores legally and attract everyone's attention?
How did Avester (yay for self-praise) get 52000+ for Shenkuu Warrior and get his trophy?
And with that, you probably know what to do to keep you inspired and to study hard for Review Test. There is always a way. Practice (and lots of it) will definitely make you score well. And keep a cheerful attitude (like duh...). I probably should tell you the story of me cro...oops I don't have much time. I'll post that when I get back.

It has been a while since I wrote a proper blogpost, one of the reasons being I'm mugging (yes, indeed, the truth is revealed, Avester is mugging...like who isn't?) and another reason being that there's nothing of interest happening these few days.
What actually happened for the past one week or so in my blog? Well, it was a 'bochap week'. Since I had nothing excitingly interesting to post, I decided to come up with the 'bochap week' idea. Orginal? Not really. Creative? Quite. Anyway, you can tell I really lack stuff to post because I'm dragging this post so badly with such boring stuff.
Let's see. Oh yes, I went to watch the second Narnia movie few days ago, arguably better than the first. (Remember the first one had tremendous criticism? Yup, that's the one... the lion, the witch and the wardrobe one) It was quite climatic... with an odd ending. Anyway, the interesting was that I watched the whole movie without drinking my coke... and it was after the show I realised that I had a full bottle of coke beside me and...
I know, I know. It's getting boring.
There's nothing good to post! Argh!!!! Just...cannot...think...of...anything...

Oh great. Now I'm acting like a crazed zombie just to grab your attention and make you finish reading the rest of this blogpost.

Suddenly building playlists and making MP3 files of various music... and starting to appreciate the different genres and how each genre of music can be effectively used... for example, we should play sadder songs at the start and techno (louder) ones at the back. The sad songs are for motivation, the loud songs are to wake myself up.
3. Team Player
It's a tournament where you have no idea who the other people on your team is, except say your friends who you know are definitely in the same team. Suddenly, I have to think as a team player, knowing how to motivate and help others (neoboards...) at the same time do my part for the team. (I also learnt it in PLTC...)
4. Strategy
Suddenly becoming critically strategic, it is important to know your enemies before a war, thus we must know what our opponent's weaknesses and strengths are, what are our own strengths and weaknesses, which days are important tournament dates, which days a sweep can be pulled without much effort, which days to focus on what games.
5. Clutch
Never panicking no matter what, like I always do. Still staying positive even though my team suffered complete triple kills in the first five days of the tournament, now gaining momentum.

Avester's Column 65
Had a thoroughly stressful week that ended well with fun (lots of it). This whole week, from Monday to Thursday, I have that heavy feeling of dread inside me as I walk out of school everyday. Did I do well? Can I do well? Would I do well? And all the questions that are seemingly similar and paraphrased start churning inside me.
Then when I get home, I use those three questions to 'somewhat' motivate me for the exam the next day. I shall not list any predictions, I'm hoping for a miracle, and I shall leave it as that. The truth is, I can't even assess myself-whether I did well or not. I feel.. stranded.
Anyway, let's not think about review test week. Let's talk about other stuff. Then again, there's nothing much to say besides Jacky and I going bowling yesterday. And although we played 10 games straight, we still want to play more. My bowling skills improved, and now I actually can score a three digit score. (Sounds a lot like me practicing a game...)
Talking about games, I have been online often (not on Saturday but on Friday) and I have been... well... doing what I usually do. Play games. MSN.
I feel like I'm forcing myself to write this. I'm taking a break from games, so I'm blogging. That will be more common in the days to come, and you'll probably see more interesting posts and pics (guaranteed to be more interesting than this one... hopefully... hey everyone feels hopeful OKAY...) It's fun, but I know my limits, UNLIKE what all of you out there are thinking... I'm not some crazy addict who sits in front of the monitor playing relentlessly...
And finally, since you want to know how to curb boredom while playing yooyuball, here's my background music playlist. One cycle is 41 minutes, which translates into around 18-19 games. (I do 3-5 cycles daily, taking at least an hour break from the computer totally in between... see I'm not a crazed games addict) For one thing, I don't listen to songs with lyrics while playing yooyuball because it will get really distracting. And I get distracted easily :P

Went bowling today with Jacky. (Stress Reliever) So we had no idea and we did not plan on it but somehow we played 10 games. That was a lot. And I improved from a 61 to a 113, with a reasonable number of strikes and spares per game. And I feel so much better...yay...Oh and notice my 9th Frame score? I had a 7-10 split and panicked...

Column 65
Well, I have decided to squeeze out some time for a blogpost! So be thankful as you continue reading this.
Came back from camp 4 days ago. PLTC (Patrol Leaders Training Camp) has taught me a lot. It has taught me to be critically self-aware of the surroundings, details and people around me and how I can be a good leader. I have also survived an 8km walk (I think it's longer) with a full pack (mine was 9.5kg) on my shoulders with the consistent hurrying and yelling of Adult Leaders. I am also proud to say that I have spent my solo night (one night where an adult leader throw you inside a forest in Ubin and you pitch a tent and sleep there)
Well, it was also during that camp (PLTC-People Like Talking Crap) that I realised that when you're bored tired angry and highly displeased you'll just start talking random crazy stuff. You just don't make sense and you know it, and you don't care. Because you're too tired to stop yourself...
After camp, I told myself I should study. So the moment I came back my sister told me Altador Cup was on.
That completely cracked my study mood.
If anything interesting is happening right now, it's that I'm chionging homework while relaxing and enjoying the last days of holiday. When term reopens, it'll be the dreaded Review Test week. (Like that how to play games?)
And that's it for now, I guess. I'm willing to do random questionnaires please please please pass me some if you can spare them.
Okay fine. So there's nothing interesting. In any case, if you are feeling bored, help me test THIS and give me your comments. I'll be trying to remake a new version or update this version in a few weeks, so I'm currently accepting all comments to improve it.

I'll try to squeeze in blogposts tomorrow if there's time. I have tests to study for and I still need to chuck out at least 2-3 hours a day for the tournament. Yes, I'm an addict. Yes, I studied and that's why I think I can afford to play a little more... but yes, I'm uncertain, I'm scared the papers will be difficult and I'll sit there stunned and ask myself 'What have I done?!?!'
The truth is, not much.
And that's why I'm really really scared.

Tomorrow I'm going for camp with the VS Scouts. So I'll be not online for 5 days.
That is also the particular reason why I studied my stuff for Review test in advance...so that I won't have to rush through everything in the last 5 days of holidays.
That being said, I wonder how all of your revisions are going? I'm sure all of you are working hard (if not...well, please do...).
Well, if you're online then, you probably aren't studying because you're tired, you're angry, you're depressed, you want to talk to someone, you just don't feel like studying or you're just bored. It's okay, I get that feeling sometimes. In fact, I've felt bored this whole week. I've read through almost everything...and I just don't want to pick up my books again.
Let me cheer all of you up with a simple analogy (sorry, I'm a Neopets Games Addict)
Every Friday they will release a new game on Neopets. (usually once a fortnight but anyway...) When they release a new game, everyone has an equal chance of being the best player (earning a trophy).
Then usually one month later there are players who noticeably dominate the high-score board with high scores. How do they do that? How do they achive unthinkable scores legally and attract everyone's attention?
How did Avester (yay for self-praise) get 52000+ for Shenkuu Warrior and get his trophy?
And with that, you probably know what to do to keep you inspired and to study hard for Review Test. There is always a way. Practice (and lots of it) will definitely make you score well. And keep a cheerful attitude (like duh...). I probably should tell you the story of me cro...oops I don't have much time. I'll post that when I get back.

I can't wait for Review Test. So that I can get it over and done with. Currently I have 3 subjects that are in somewhat war-ready condition, that's Chem, Bio and obviously Chinese.
You must be wondering why I'm mugging right? I have a 5 day Scouts Camp from 13-17 June and so I thought if I don't start mugging now it would be a little too late. But I'm trying to sneak some rest and relax this week (hehe...) because I know the camp would be stressful...and tiring...and probably after that I would be in no mood to face Review Test Week...

Avester's Column 63
It has been a while since I wrote a proper blogpost, one of the reasons being I'm mugging (yes, indeed, the truth is revealed, Avester is mugging...like who isn't?) and another reason being that there's nothing of interest happening these few days.
What actually happened for the past one week or so in my blog? Well, it was a 'bochap week'. Since I had nothing excitingly interesting to post, I decided to come up with the 'bochap week' idea. Orginal? Not really. Creative? Quite. Anyway, you can tell I really lack stuff to post because I'm dragging this post so badly with such boring stuff.
Let's see. Oh yes, I went to watch the second Narnia movie few days ago, arguably better than the first. (Remember the first one had tremendous criticism? Yup, that's the one... the lion, the witch and the wardrobe one) It was quite climatic... with an odd ending. Anyway, the interesting was that I watched the whole movie without drinking my coke... and it was after the show I realised that I had a full bottle of coke beside me and...
I know, I know. It's getting boring.
There's nothing good to post! Argh!!!! Just...cannot...think...of...anything...
Must...study...
Oh great. Now I'm acting like a crazed zombie just to grab your attention and make you finish reading the rest of this blogpost.
