Avester's Column 32

I spent my whole day at Scouts. 7am to 10pm.

Yay. Our PT was vry slack. Then we had our knots theory test which Wil beng kept butting in. I had the feeling he was suspicious of us copying notes. That obviously was not true. *shifty eyes* I mean, why would we copy?

Sing song session next. Sing song session in this year's history always equates to knock it down. Its really silly. Everyone hates sing song session because of the push-up part. Sometimes I think a change in itinery (and by change I mean cut) would be better. No one loves pushing the floor, honestly.

Wil beng had a very nice talk *cough* with the troop about being punctual and attendance. It was very mundane (well, not eally, but still...) and he also adds that if I want to come back for Scouts next year, which i will, I must clock 75% attendance. That's easy, I reckon. Why I want to come back? Let's see...

2. Harrass Ziyad.

3. Harrass Guo Qiang.

4. Harrass Xi...

Sorry, i got carried away. What next? Oh yes, painting. Shervin actually pumped me because of that, lols. I was given 5 minutes to find spray paint in the store (quite messy place) and couldn't find it. Shervin walked in and saw a box of spray paints. And I did 50 for that. I did another 30 because I accidentally hit 6 people with the heavy wooden boards I was carrying. I did another 5 for playing Whack a Beng. We had a deflated ball (inflated just barely to give it a round shape) and picked up a spar and whacked it like a baseball. It didn't run far. Then Shervin said I did not have common sense, I mean, there were 10 portions on the ball, he wanted to multiply 10 by a number and that's how many pushups I'd do. Smart-alaecky, I said 0.5. I should have said 0!!! Dots. After working a while, we slacked some more to play Wil Beng ball, this time no bat, just throwing it around.

5pm. Two campfires.

At the east area campfire, things were silly. When we sang the songs, YOU CAN HEAR THE CRICKETS IN ARROW SCOUTS CHIRPING. The only reasonable part was 'if you're happy and you know it do all five', everyone was clapping and stomping and snapping and Arrow Scouts were shouting 'ALL FIVE'. That was silly. Then they forced me to go up and dance some silly shake your butt and flap your arms dance. (I didn't)Then we did the chicken dance. At the reception corner, you should see the people fighting it out for nuggets! There was a queue, and no one was bothering to queue! Wil beng didn't have one! -.- Yu Hui took a plate of food and it was pretty snatched up too.

At the RI campfire, Anand was the main story of Arrow Scouts. Everyone was quite angry with him (literally). He was attempting to take upsk**t videos of the others, and dancing around like a fool. The PLs, I presume was pretty angry with him. The downside was they weren't forced to go up and do the silly shake your butt dances or the chicken dance. I can say, however, that the reception corner was equally bad. BAD! Luckily, it wasn't just us. It was EVERYONE. Expressing kiasuism in Singaporeans!

Lol. Will continue next time. Currently working on something else (you'll see it soon!)

WHACK-A-BENG

I am not angry. In fact, I'm very angry.

Today we had 3 tests. Maths, History and D&T. I can assure you that I didn't do very well for all 3 of them. Sighs.

Then Mr Maran wanted me to go up and read aloud a passage to the class. In my opinion, I did the best out of the 4 people called up, due to the fact that I didn't stumble, it was almost fluent, and I did not make pronunciation errors.

And I have a Chinese test AND oral tommorrow. And CCP. That's about the worst of it.

I don't feel like going school tomorrow. But of course you can't skip school for no reason. And even if you can, well, tomorrow is too important to skip. Tests...tests...do teachers enjoy seeing us suffer? With all those tests?

Ah. Can't wait NOT to get back our exam papers. No that I'm worried...I'm VERY worried...

Avester's Column 31

Guo Qiang has been complaining that my blog posts are redundant and short. Well I'll show him! Today I shall write so long, you WOULDN'T want to read this. Too bad. Read it anyway.

Because today, it is me, Avester, the honourable GREATEST STICK IC EVER. (You can tell from the fancy header). Today, after our regular scout meeting, we had a lot of fun (oh, i'm sure...) building the quadrupods (although they are more commonly referred to as I-pods)




Thank you for the large picture that is making this post more redundant.



Anyway, today we built the tower, THEN dismantled it, built exactly the same structure again with another set of poles, tied lashings to add on more poles, then DISMANTLED IT. You can feel how hurt everyone was. Sobs. Building then tearing down. Twice.



Anyway, everyone was just too bored and tired to bother about such mundane things like pioneering and tying knots. We were more interested in importantly interesting objects, such as swings and sticks. Fooling and swinging (that's what you do on a swing right?!) around with them. Making our seniors quite angry (they were actually too tired to be angry) with us. Since they themselves were too tired, the ALs had some fun with us.



And finally the spotlight shines on me. Guang Jie caught me playing with the sticks Xiu Qi brought down from the store. The sticks were to be used as powerbars for tying Sheer Lashes. Anyway, he made me collect all the sticks and make them fall in. Yu Hui was quite reluctant to part with his stick.



There were only four sticks, so I realised that there wasn't much of a point for them to actual;ly fall in. Well, they can't fall in anyway, so I had to arrange them in one line. Then Guang Jie warned me that if any one of those sticks got out of the line, I would be doing 5.



Guess what? I did 5.



Sean took one stick, so I did 5 push-ups for that. Laughing while doing. Shouting 'Sean all your fault' while doing. Actually, the punishment was meant for a stick, since you are not suppose to move without permission in a fall-in. But sticks can't push-up, so as the Honourable Stick IC, I did it for them. Sob sobs.



Well, my honourable position did not last long. Herman attempted to steal a stick from me, so Guang Jie promoted him to the new stick IC. As a farewell gift from my 20-min job of being stick IC, I was given the opportunity of doing another 5 push-ups.



Then we had to collect poles. So I self-promoted to pole IC. It was a lousy boring job. I mean, pulling out poles from the timber shack them throwing them back in...what were everyone thinking?!?! It was very unamusing. I slacked for a few minutes, then helped drag out poles, then drag them back. Drag out, drag back. And that wonderful process continued with a lot of poles, since we couldn't actually find poles that were neear 3.5m. We took out 2.9s and 4.2s, just not close to 3.5m. Sad. Wasted about 20 minutes.



We were dismissed after another fiasco with the poles, since Beng wanted the poles to be pushed in neatly to the pole storage area outside the den. So we laboured for another 15 minutes dragging poles in and out. In and out. In and out. It was very entertaining indeed (indeed!!!) It was making us so tired, I swear I can just fall asleep there.



But of course, I didn't.



And then we were dismissed at 6+++ (++++++++++++). We practially spent half of our day at scouts. Dragging poles in and out. Building and tearing structures.



And of course, don't forget the honourable GREATEST STICK IC EVER.

Have not blogged for a few days, so today I'll blab a boring talk on updates.

Firstly, I have not been updating my podcasts because I need to redo them up. This is an opening for the podcast, please listen (its only 5 seconds!!!) and tell me how you feel about it. Its like a theme song, something like that.

Secondly, a new IQ puzzle has popped out of nowhere! The answer to the previous one was 31. Give your brain a good cracking or try your luck to see if you can get the right answer!!!

Thirdly, the marquee is updated. Yes, thank you Sakif, I made a mistake about the Cross Country. Announcement: THERE IS NO CROSS COUNTRY THIS YEAR!!!
